15,000 Runners Turn Out for Diplo's Run Club 5K, With Appearance By Too $hort

On Sunday, around 15,000 people participated in this year s SF edition of Diplo s Run Club, a now roving run-and-party event that the DJ and producer launched in San Francisco two years ago.Diplo s Run Club came back to SF again on Sunday, and around 15,000 participants ran a 3.1-mile course that started and ended at Robin Williams Meadow in Golden Gate Park. As KRON4 reports, this year s race ended with a DJ set by Jax Jones and a mini morning rave (presumably drug free?) in the meadow.Diplo also did a DJ set, and was joined on stage by Bay Area legend Too $hort, who performed an unreleased song, as well as his classic Blow the Whistle. Diplo became an avid runner in recent years, and he launched Diplo s Run Club with a 5K fun run that ended with a dance party on the Embarcadero in September 2024. As Diplo wrote on Instagram after this year s race, the future is uncertain but 15,000 people dancing before lunch in the bay is a good sign. View this post on Instagram
